What is Barcode Generation?

The Barcode Generation feature allows users to bridge the gap between physical inventory and digital tracking. It is specifically designed to allow users label products that arrive without pre-existing barcodes or who use proprietary coding systems.

Key Benefits:

  • Standardization: Convert internal product numbers, or shipment data into scannable barcodes (GS1 or Custom formats).

  • Efficiency: Generate labels during the inbound process for new products or for existing inventory sitting in bins/containers.

  • Portability: Export labels as a standardized PDF file, ready to be sent to any local or network label printer.

Currently, system allow users to generate barcodes for products or their storage locations: bins or containers.

The system extracts specific data from your inventory to create scannable labels.

For bins and containers it is their identifiers (bin name and container identifier accordingly).

For the product, user can generate barcodes based on:

  • Product Number

  • Lot Number

  • Serial Number

  • Quantity

Supported Formats & Constraints: To ensure compatibility with standard scanners, the system supports the following encoding types:

  • Linear (1D): Code 128, Code 39

  • 2D Matrix: QR Code, Data Matrix

Important Note: Currently, the system supports one active configuration at a time, and only one data type (e.g., just the Serial Number) can be encoded into a single barcode. Therefore if user needs to barcode several data types, he needs to add all needed data type to the configuration and the system will generate for each item multiple barcodes.
