How to Configure Barcode Generation
Configuration is managed at the Company Level by administrators. This ensures that labeling remains consistent across all branches and users.
Creating Barcode Configuration
Navigate to the Settings section on the web interface and select Barcode. Press Create button to create new configuration.
2. It will open the window where user defines the rules of barcode generation. Type configuration name, and choose the entity for which barcode will be generated. Currently, it can be generated for product, bin or container.
Than press ADD to add the data field that needs to be barcoded.
2.1 Choose what data will be barcoded (dropdown ”Field”) and barcode format, define barcode height. Barcode length will be proportional and will depend on the number of digits in the barcode, but you can set up the margin on the label. Optionally you can add prefix and suffix that will be added to all your product data when generating a barcode.
2.3. If you need to barcode multiple fields, just repeat the operation.
2.2. Save the configuration.
The system currently applies the first configuration created as the global standard. Ensure your chosen data type (Product, Lot, Serial, or Quantity) and encoding format (e.g., Code 128) are correctly set in this primary configuration.
How it Works
Once configured, users can generate labels. Currently generation is possible both on mobile and on web-platform.
The generation process is currently optimized for:
individual items labelling
location-based labeling
Location-based labelling (web)
Navigate to Stock data, open tab Bin or Container and choose the specific Bin or Container you wish to label.
2. Choose the specific Bin or Container you wish to label and just hit Generate Barcode button.
3. The system will automatically pull the data for all items within that bin or container according to your active configuration.
File Creation: A PDF file is automatically generated and saved to your device's Downloads folder.
File Naming: Files are named for easy auditing:
[Configuration Name]_[Timestamp]_[Generation ID].pdf
Individual item labelling (on web)
Navigate to Stock data and choose the product you wish to label. Click on it and in the detailed window choose also specific lot or serial.
Click on that specific lot and in the dialogue window that choose Generate barcode.
Similarly you can do it from orders: just choose the item, click on it and in the dialogue window choose Generate barcode.
Generating barcodes on mobile
User can generate barcodes on mobile app from the order or any processed transaction.
Note: to be able to generate barcodes from an order, at least one item in the order should be processed. At the moment user can not generate barcodes from transactions with status “Created” with no processed items.
Barcodes can be generated only for processed items. If the order contains both processed and unprocessed items, barcodes can not be generated for the whole order, only for each processed item individually.
Choose the order for which you would like to generate the barcodes.
2. User can generate barcodes for all the items of the processed order from the Order details screen:
3. Alternatively, user can generate barcode for individual processed items within the order by choosing the item and press “Barcode”
Upon generation user can open the file directly with one of the available tool, for example PDF reader, and save it on the phone locally if needed.
Printing
Open the downloaded PDF from your folder and send it to your label printer. The PDF is pre-formatted to match the encoding style (e.g., QR or Code 39) defined in your settings.
